Alan Rothstein founded Rothstein & Company in 1981 and is a principal of Asset Strategies, Inc. Formerly, he was a comptroller, accountant and auditor with regional and national CPA/investment firms. He holds BS and MS degrees in accounting and has earned the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Alan’s primary areas of expertise includes income and estate tax planning, cash flow analysis, business and investment planning for small business owners and financial /investment planning for divorced (divorcing) clients. He lectures extensively on business development, retirement planning, and financial goal setting for high net-worth and self-employed individuals.
An active member of a sub-committee of the Personal Financial Planning Division of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Alan is also active in the CT Society of CPAs. In addition, he is a member of the NY Society of CPAs, and the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA).
Alan’s civic activities include being the immediate past President of The Box Project, a national nonprofit organization assisting rural families in poverty, and an active past president of the Probus Club, a national organization dedicated to helping the handicapped. He is also the youth advisor to a United Synagogue Youth (USY) Chapter in West Hartford, CT.
Recently, Alan was named as one of the top 250 financial advisors in the United States by Worth Magazine. Previously, the LINC Society of CPA Financial Planners named Alan the Personal Financial Planner of the Year. Alan has been listed several times in Accounting Today newspaper as one of the CPAs in financial planning to know. Alan was honored in 2001 by being awarded the AICPA Personal Financial Planning Division's Distinguished Service Award. |
