Bob is the founder and president of JFS Wealth Advisors, LLC, a partner firm of Focus Financial Partners, the leading partnership of independent, fiduciary, wealth management firms providing fee-based services to their clients. JFS offers comprehensive wealth management services including investment management, personal financial and estate planning, and tax return preparation.
His professional affiliations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), and the Financial Planning Association (FPA). He is an elected member of the AICPA Council and a past chair of the AICPA Personal Financial Specialist Credential Committee. He formerly served on the AICPA Personal Financial Planning Conference Committee. In the past, he served as an elected member of the PICPA Council, Chair of the PICPA Estate and Personal Financial Planning Committee, and as a member of the Editorial Board of the CPA Journal.
He has authored a number of articles for various publications and has spoken at state and national financial planning conferences. He served on national advisory committees for Lockwood Advisors and Charles Schwab Co. addressing the needs of independent financial advisors for separately managed investment accounts. He currently serves on the board of National Advisors Trust Company and is a past member of a national advisors panel for TD Ameritrade.
Bob holds BA and MBA degrees. He is a Certified Public Accountant, also receiving the Personal Financial Specialist designation with high honors from the AICPA, and is a Certified Financial Planner™ professional. In addition to his professional activities, Bob is also very active in community activities, serving in a number of leadership positions. Bob was chosen as a Buhl Honoree in 2009. This prestigious award is presented to three individuals who emulate the principles that Frank Buhl, an early industrialist and leading benefactor to Bob’s home community, lived by. These individuals give of their time and talents to further the sustainability of our community. He was honored by the Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce in 1998 as Person of the Year and in 2001 with a Community Service Award for his service on the Shenango Valley Intergovernmental Study Committee. He was also honored by Westminster College with a Distinguished Alumni Citation in 1999. |
